If you want to learn to sing and are worried about your age, then you can stop worrying. I’m here to tell you that it’s never too late to start singing and there is no such thing as an ideal singing age!
Even at the young age of 8 or 9, children can be taught to sing with huge success. Sure, singing training must be adjusted later on to avoid damaging their voices during the changes of puberty. Any qualified singing coach will be able to give advice in this regard.
And don’t think just because you didn’t start singing coaching as a child that it’s too late to benefit from singing lessons now. You might be surprised to learn that some people even sing better as they age. But even if this is not the case for you, don’t be put off. There is no getting around the many physical changes that we experience as we age. There is no denying that we lose muscles strength and flexibility. However, don’t be like so many others and make “age” an excuse for not pursuing your dreams.
Realize that many young people – even kids – also run into voice and other physical problems. My point is this: granted there will be things that you will never be able to do as well as you might have when you were young, but you are never to old to experience new things and to have fun. It is never too late to do activities that inspire us and make us energetic and vibrant. It’s never too late to learn develop and learn new skills. The Per Bristow Voice Method is a liberating learn to sing approach that has no age or skill prerequisite.
While there are plenty of professional singers who use home study programs like Bristow Voice Method, some of those who benefit most from the program are beginner singers just like your and me. Since it is all about developing awareness and taking you from where you are to where you want to go, your level or age is really irrelevant. {At the end of the day, old or young really is just a state of mind.} Singing is one of those activities that has no age limit, unless we are judging the way we sound towards some limiting ideal. You owe it to yourself to let your voice be heard.
